These terms govern nmtoftlbs.org, written to be readable. Using the site means you accept them; if not, please don't use it.

The tool

nmtoftlbs.org is a free converter for torque and force units, open for personal or shop use at no charge.

Specs come from the manufacturer

This matters for mechanical work. The site converts a torque figure between units; it does not tell you the right figure. Torque a fastener to the value in the service manual or on the part, and use a properly calibrated wrench. A converter is not a substitute for the spec.

Accuracy

We use standard conversion factors and take care with them, but we can't guarantee a result fits your exact case, so confirm anything that carries a real consequence before you rely on it.

Fair use

Ordinary use has no limits. Please don't bombard the site with bots, copy it wholesale, overload it, or use it unlawfully, so it stays up for others.

Ownership

The design, code and writing are ours. Plain facts, such as 1 Nm being 0.7376 ft-lb, are free to quote. Just don't clone the whole site and present it as your own.

We link to references. Follow one and you are on another site, under its rules and privacy terms, not ours.

Availability and liability

The site comes as it is and however it happens to be running, and parts may change or go down for maintenance without warning. As far as the law allows there are no warranties, and we aren't liable for losses from using it or from downtime.

Updates

We may revise these terms; whatever is on this page, dated at the top, is the version that applies.
